Welcome

Hello and welcome! Here's a space for a little more information about me. I am completing an MSEd in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University. I have a background in educational nonprofit work as a case manager and program coordinator; as well as, experience is health and fitness. I love to bring strategy, problem solving, and creativity into learning and training solutions. I am a member of the professional organization AECT and currently part of their graduate student division. I am actively working on a scoping review research project focused on adult learning in distance education.

I currently live in Dallas, TX and love being outdoors, hiking, reading, writing and exploring creative pursuits. I am on a mission to find the best local coffee in Dallas and find a reason to eat avocado daily.

My Story

I graduated college with a B.A. in Letters ( a mixture of english, history, philosophy and languages). I knew when I graduated I loved learning and helping others grow in a learning or performance goal. I started my career in the educational non-profit sector developing programs and assessments for high need learners. I moved forward and gained experience in industry working for a startup in billing. Eventually, I focused on self-employment and gaining a certification in health coaching where I help clients to meet health related goals.

All of this work lead me to the instructional design field. I have used aspects of each job as I  gained skills in designing and developing learning and training programs. Throughout my master's degree, I have emphasized ensuring my performance and training solutions are research-backed and effective for varying industry needs. As I have focused my learning programs in well-tested models (ADDIE, The Dick and Carey Model, the Kirkpatrick Model, etc.), I have seen my ability to identify and address performance needs grow. I gained proficiency in several new technological platforms and love incorporating variety into training programs. Case studies, interactive learning, action planning, demonstrations and gaming are some of my favorite features to add to training programs. This field is innovative, practical, and fun. I recommended it too many creatives looking for a professional outlet.
